We shall never surrender!

"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.”

Winston Churchill

This is one of the most known speeches in the WWII. We can say this was one of the defining speeches  during World War II. We can see the repetition flowing through it, and this is proposital. It's called Anaphora - repetition of words and phrases. Churchill used a lot of classical rethorical techniques to make his war speeches memorable and ispiring. He was a very smart man, and every word he said should have a purpose.
I can't think in any better and more inspiring way to warn and prepare your people to a coming invasion attempt. I'd feel proud and comfortable being led by a man like that in war times.

Well, war would be different without Churchill, many thanks to him to be honest.

Awesome bonus, love Iron Maiden.

I always like to hear about Winston, he was such a boss. That speech was so inspiring, more dramatic because of the impending war.

Great blog, followed.

What an inspiring speech. With those skills, I'm glad he wasn't some evil mass manipulator.

Heard his speeches were written by someone else for him, never the less, still inspiring!

Winston Churchill and Aces High in one post? How can I survive this joy....wait, turns out I can't. lol. Churchill really said a lot of amazing things, and it's a crying shame that most kids these days think he's just a dog that sells car insurance. Or whatever insurance that infernal thing sells.
